António Evengelista Évora (Taninho Évora)
- músico
The violinist Taninho has crossed at least three generations to accompany singers - for example, Antoninho Lobo, Ildo Lobo's father, Ildo Lobo himself and younger interpreters too. Always living in Sal, from where he was born, he started playing as a teenager, experimenting, alone.
Some time later, his brothers offered him their first instrument, made by Lela Preciosa. He begins to have contact with Luis Rendall, who would later become his father-in-law, and with Tazinho, also a guitarist. His contact with Luis Rendall was fundamental for Taninho, who considers him a master.
With Rendall and other musicians, Taninho was part of the Conjunto de Cabo Verde, which in 1962 traveled to Portugal and made a long tour around the country. During the tour the group recorded three EPs, two with the title Folclore de Cabo Verde, and one with the name of the group simply. Six years later, Taninho will record in duo with Tututa, the instrumental LP Rapsódia invited by Bana.
Discography: Rapsódia, Lena and Travessa de Peixeira
