Guilherme Augusto Duarte Ramos was born in Mindelo in 1962. He is the great-grandson of Jacinto Estrela and second cousin of Manuel d'Novas.
He arrived in Holland in July 1975 and also lived for some time in Paris. He studied journalism and media studies in the Netherlands. In the audiovisual area, he worked as a reporter for a regional TV station and was the director of dozens of music videos and some documentaries with Cape Verdean artists.
He is an attentive observer of the Cape Verdean community and of the music scene of which he is part, as a composer of about 400 lyrics, until 2011. Around 40 of his songs are recorded by Grace Évora, Dina Medina, Johnny Ramos, Roger, Milena and the Splash group, among others.
