Born in Mindelo, São Vicente, Cape Verde, in 1973. He has been a photographer since 1992 and a filmmaker.
He won a photography contest in 2005 organized by the French Cultural Centre of Praia, an event that marked the beginning of his public presentations.
In 2006 he launched PRAIA.MOV, an urban culture movement in the city of Praia, Cape Verde, in collaboration with architects, artists and other intellectuals.
It was international for the first time, in 2007, at the International Contemporary Art Fair, in Spain.
He is co-founder of the Cinema Negro platform and is currently the coordinator of the Department of Cinema and Media Art of the Ministry of Culture in Cape Verde.
