Gracindo Évora (Grace Évora)

Grace Évora was born on February 2nd, 1969 on the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde. Since he was a child Grace has shown great interest in music as a singer and drummer. Even in his childhood he and his parents emigrated temporarily to Paris and then settled in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
In 1987, Grace managed to open the doors to his success when he was invited to be a drummer for the group Livity. It was his luck that the band allowed him to record as a singer a track entitled 'Bia' on the group's second album.
He has toured many Cape Verdean communities all over the world and is known in all the countries of the PALOP. In Angola and Mozambique, for example, he is regularly invited to present at various international music events and contests. Currently, he enjoys a musical career as a solo artist, as well as a drummer and singer for Splash, one of the popular ensembles of Cape Verdean pop music.
