Ceuzany Gonçalves Pires was born in Senegal, but her father is from Fogo and her mother from São Vicente. It was in the city of Mindelo that she lived since she was 2 years old. In 2008, Ceuzany won first place in a Small Singers' Gala, which brings together the winners of previous editions of the Fogo island.
Before that, the talented singer already shone regularly in hotels and other music venues on the island of Monte Cara, especially with the group Eclipse, from Ponta do Sol (Santo Antão), with whom she had the opportunity to do a tour of France and the Netherlands.
In 2007, Ceuzany was singing in a hotel in Santo Antão when Arlindo Évora, composer and lead singer of Cordas do Sol, who loved her performance, invited her to join the group, which had been looking for a female voice for some time. Since then, her presence gives an extra shine to the performances of this group, which is one of the most emblematic of Santo Antão.
She began her solo career in 2012 with the album "Nha Vida".
