In 2007, the National Library and Book Institute edited its poetry book, "Sonho Sonhado", which is reedited in 2008, in a trilingual edition (Creole, Portuguese and English), the first trilingual edition published in Cape Verde.
The poetry of Carlota de Barros surprises by the tenderness that emanates, the affectionate and exacerbated lyricism singing their islands, so his that the permanence in the far-away land does not reduce his feeling, moreover, only increases his sensitivity transfigured into soft verses, sometimes melancholic, but always presenting a look of solidarity and love for her country, her Cape Verdean land. A poetry that deserves a place of prominence within the fortunately diversified contemporary literary panorama of Cape Verde.
