Born on February 19, 1964 in S. Vicente, Cape Verde, Paulo Renato Mariano de Figueiredo, Paló, lived between the cities of Praia and Mindelo until he was 14. In 1978 he moved to Lisbon to continue his studies. In 1986 he returned to Cape Verde where he lived until 2004. Currently lives and works in Lisbon.
