- Pintura
Luísa Queirós was born in Lisbon. She graduated in Painting from the Escola Superior de Belas-Artes de Lisboa and arrived in Cape Verde in 1975, a few months before independence. With Manuel Figueira and Bela Duarte, she began one of the most significant projects for the fine arts in this country: the Cooperativa Resistência. They were the driving force behind the Centro Nacional de Artesanato, being responsible for collecting material, techniques and training, helping to create an important cultural heritage. Her painting is figurative and fills the space with bright colours and shapes that make us follow the course of stories and emotions.
