Olavo Avelino Garcia Correia, born in Praia, Santiago Island, has a degree in Economics in Germany, Berlin and a postgraduate degree in Business Management in Bavaria, Germany.
He has held various positions among them was a visiting professor of economics - Macroeconomics I and II - at the Higher Institute of Legal and Social Sciences, is vice president of the MpD since 2013, president of the foundation EPIF (School of Integral Preparation of Football). He is a member of the Council of the Republic.
Director of the Tecnicil Group, having served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tecnicil Indústria.
He has also served as a Member of the Advisory Board of BCV, Managing Director of Banco Montepio Geral Cabo Verde (BMGCV), Governor of BCV in that capacity Alternate Governor of Cape Verde at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Deputy Secretary of State to the Minister of Finance, Director-General of Treasury and staff of the Bank of Cape Verde - Department of Markets and Statistics and Economic Studies.
