Maria Teresa Duarte Alhinho (Teté Alhinho)
- compositora
- música
I sang with the best known groups in Cape Verde at that time, including "A Voz de Cabo Verde", "Ritmos Caboverdianos", "Os Tubarões", "Bulimundo" and others. I studied in Cuba (1975-1980) where I participated in several radiophone programs singing and accompanying me on guitar (1980-1984). But it was in Portugal, on my way home with a husband and three children, that I recorded my first LP entitled "Mares do Sul" with the musical production of Paulino Vieira and Péricles Duarte (1988-89).
The return to Cape Verde followed, when, at the invitation of Mário Lucio Sousa, I joined the group Simentera with which I recorded "Raíz", "Barro e Voz", "Simentera En Serenata" and "TR'aditional".
Teté Alhinho is the author and composer of more than 50 songs, many of which are already authentic classics in the Cape Verdean songbook. Among many of them are "Dia T´Chuva Bem", "A téma"; "Chibinho"; "C´Lamor"; "Coladera Nobo" (Simentera); "Conversa Adiada"; "Desabafo" "Dia Qui'm Vira" "Mudjer"; "Terra Verde" among others.
